Jingshan Park Overview

A comprehensive guide to Jingshan Park, a beautiful imperial park offering panoramic views of Beijing.

Jingshan Park is located just north of the Forbidden City and offers panoramic views of Beijing from its hilltop. It's a popular spot for locals to exercise and enjoy the scenery, with beautiful gardens and historical structures.

The park covers an area of 23 hectares and features a 45-meter-high hill, which was once the highest point in Beijing. The hill was built using soil excavated during the construction of the Forbidden City's moat. At the top of the hill stands the Wanchun Pavilion, which offers breathtaking views of the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, and the surrounding cityscape.

Jingshan Park is also home to several historical buildings, including the Five Pavilions on the hilltop, each housing a bronze Buddha statue. The park is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, especially during spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
